LEGITIMATIONS. NOTARY SERVICES

In this section you can consult the notarial services related to legitimations that can be done in our Notary of Barcelona and a brief description of them.

Legitimations: Legitimately certify that a signature belongs to the signer through a notary's judgment. Notarial procedure very common in routine practice-

Legitimation of signature placed in the presence of the notary: hacer reliable a document or certify the fact that a signature has been placed in the presence of a notary, specifying the identity, the data of the signer and the date of the signature. 

Signature legitimacy recognized by the signer in the presence of the notary: In the Notarial Regulations there is no specific way of how the notary comes to verify that the signature belongs to that person, but the notary has to achieve the purpose of proving the complete certainty of the signature.   

Signature legitimation for personal knowledge: the signer appears before a notary, declaring that the signature is his and makes an acknowledgment of veracity on it. 

Signature legitimation by checking with another legitimated original signature: that the notary has previously legitimized the signature and that there is no doubt before a notary that that signature belongs to the same person. 

Signature legitimacy by checking with the protocol or indicator book of the notary: the same notary or his predecessors in the protocol or Registered Book have accredited the identity of the signer. 

Signature legitimacy by checking with the national identity document (DNI): A third party appears at the notary with the DNI of the signer, and the notary after comparing the original document and the signature, without the signer being present, the notary can legitimize it without being in front of him.
