For the duration of the State of Alarm for the coronavirus COVID-19 In Spain, the Notary Public will adopt, in collaboration with the General Directorate of Legal Security and Public Faith, the necessary measures to guarantee the Notary services urgent. It is made from the Instruction of March 15, 2020 on the adoption of measures that guarantee the adequate provision of the notarial public service issued by the aforementioned General Directorate of Legal Security and Public Faith, in coordination with the General Council of Notaries,

Public notarial services are public services
 of general interest, whose provision must
be guaranteed throughout the national territory.

It is determined that except for the exception made in cases of illness and those established in the notarial legislation, the notary cannot close the notarial office as it is a public office.

Due to restrictions on the roaming freedom established in Royal Decree 463/2020, of March 14, regarding the alarm status It will only be mandatory to attend to those actions of an urgent nature, as well as those determined by the Government. Interested parties will not be cited for actions that do not have this character. To request information on such actions, you can contact our contact channels.

If the interested party who considers a notarial action to be urgent can contact by phone or, if possible, electronically submit a letter on the web page www.notariado.org in which you must indicate your identification data, including telephone number, as well as the notarial action demanded.

  • For this purpose, the notary will provide his employees with a document by way of safe conduct that may allow them to justify that they go to their workplace.
